Who doesn’t enjoy receiving a grateful note or e-mail? At CCI, our customers occasionally send us notes or provide us feedback on the projects we’ve done for/with them. “I wanted to take
the time to let you know how pleased
we were with Dottie's (Sr. CCI Consultant)
contributions to our IBM Cognos 8 design
planning.
In just three weeks, Dottie managed
to shake up our implementation strategy
and really help us focus on what was
best for our users. She challenged us
to ask tough questions and get to the
bottom of what it was the users needed
to do their jobs better. She opened
our eyes to the fact that one solution
(Query Studio) isn't necessarily best
for all 1,000 of our users, and that
there are better ways to deliver adhoc
capabilities for a more general user
audience.
Dottie also managed to get buy in from
our project team to redesign our existing
relational reporting layer. This could
have been a real tough sell, since our
project timeline was so tight and left
little room for database development.
However, she was able to provide compelling
evidence that the proposed changes would
not only make our reporting more efficient,
but would also help address the complex
reporting requirements we would have
to address down the road (combining
data types, additional customer types,
etc).
I learned so much working with Dottie
in those few short weeks, not just about
IBM Cognos 8, but most important, how to
get to the bottom of what our users
really want. In the end, we did not
get the design plan that we asked for,
but rather the plan that we needed.
Dottie left us with so much encouragement
and excitement for our project, and
really propelled us to deliver an outstanding
product. I know you value Dottie and
the contributions she can bring to CCI
(you only hire the best), I just thought
I'd give you a little insight as to
what impact she's already had on one
of your customers! :) As always, it's
