Data Integration: Data Federation

Sometimes certain applications call for the ability to access real-time operational data across several sources. When a data mart won’t do, Data Federation may be the option to consider. Real-time data needs like Fraud Detection or Call Center activities are well served by this approach, as it does not require the actual physical movement of data from one location to another.

SAS provides the technology which enables accessing the data without its unnecessary replication and movement. This can be a cost effective approach to serving up real-time data quickly from multiple sources that’s consistent and accurate. This approach provides virtual access to database structures, ERP applications, legacy files, text, XML, message queues and a host of other sources.
